We are very happy to announce that we were successful in our application for a grant from Our Choice, Our Voice, Our Port.
There was stiff competition from some excellent projects around Newport, not all of whom received the funding they wanted. This means the summer house at the allotment can go ahead as soon as the base is prepared. Many thanks to Craig and his colleagues who have finished the initial groundworks to make the site safe and accessible to all.
Now, we need a last push to level the ground at the top of the site, this morning we had a group of veterans volunteer their time to come and help out.
Just visualise a warm spring day, sitting on the decking watching the vegetables grow!!!! But seriously, the allotment will be a great addition to the activities available to veterans and their families throughout the year!
